February 22nd, 1980 – July 16th, 2010

Tyler first served with the Marine Corps Reserve while in college. He attended both enlisted boot camp at Parris Island and Officer Candidate School in Quantico before enlisting in the Navy to become a SEAL. He served in the Navy for 8 years, from 2002 to 2010. He made multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, for which he received several combat awards and decorations.

Service and leadership were Tyler’s calling. He left an impact on many especially because of his drive for excellence and natural aptitude for leadership during his 12 years of service. His legacy lives on in the laughter he brought us and the lessons he taught us. We honor him today by living fully.
